Vesta, also commonly called “North River,” is not so much a town, as a group of small communities along an 18-mile winding road off Highway 101 near the SW Washington coast. It is not really “on the way” to anywhere, but you’d be surprised how many folks are tucked away in this dense and majestic coastal forest! North River Community Church is nestled about halfway down this road and is the only church (of any denomination) for many miles. This is an active logging area, and many are employed in some aspect of the timber business or retired from it. The small K-12 school in the nearby neighborhood of Brooklyn employs some as well, and that, along with a couple of local taverns and a restaurant, the church, grange, and Shiloh Bible Camp, form the identity of this tight-knit community of hearty northwest pioneers.

PRAYER REQUESTS:  Our family arrived here a year and a half ago, and we are working on investing in the church and getting to know people by visiting door-to-door, attending local events, and helping our neighbors with various projects. We want to grow spiritually as the body of Christ and see lives changed in the community by the power of the Gospel. Please pray for our Good News Club, hopefully beginning at the school in January, as well as our small group Bible studies, and one-on-one relationship building. Pray also for various events and camps happening at Shiloh Bible Camp throughout the year. Pray for us as we seek to raise our four young children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, and to home school our oldest two.
