It was incredibly special to attend the baptism of 5 ladies at a local nursing home this week! One of our deaconesses has been ministering to them over the last few months, especially. One by one, each decided to get baptized and were very much anticipating this very special event! Several other people from our church attended the baptism, as well as several family members of these women. Even a few other residents and employees came to watch and partake!

We started off by introducing each of the women, and then sang a couple of beautiful and worship-filled old hymns together. Tony shared a bit from God’s Word about what it means to be baptized, and the important step in obedience by following the Lord in deciding to become baptized. Then, together, we read a typed-out piece of paper that was a decree of sorts, explaining what the women were doing, so that everyone was reminded of what baptism represents. That was very special indeed! We sang another song, and then Tony started baptizing the ladies one by one.

What a beautiful afternoon with precious women who had come to know the Lord (most of them recently), but had never gotten baptized before!
