Shelli Hattan grew up in the rural community of Creswell, Oregon. It was there, through an after school Good News Club, that she sought Jesus as her personal savior. An ever present Heavenly Father didn’t require much beckoning.
While participating in the Christian ministry InterVarsity, at Western Oregon University, Shelli met her husband Troy. In 1995 they moved to Dallas in order for Troy to pursue employment as a physical therapist. They chose Faith Evangelical Free Church as their home church and have served in both youth and adult ministries the past 21 years. It was at FEFC that they had the privilege of knowing three retired pastors and their wives from within the Village Missions family.
Shelli and Troy recently celebrated their son’s marriage to Cara. Landon and Cara live in Turner, Oregon, at Cara’s place of employment, Aldersgate Camps and Retreat Center. In addition to Landon and Cara, the Hattans have a daughter, Alison, who is serving the Lord in Salem, Oregon. Troy and Shelli have been foster parenting for four years, and currently have welcomed Garett to their home.
Besides being passionate about health, gardening, and all things outdoors, Shelli is also passionate about the life changing power of the Gospel and the hope offered in a relationship with Jesus. As an opportunity to work within the Village Missions family arose, Shelli knew it would be a great privilege to partner with others who are passionate about sharing the life changing power of the Gospel and the hope we have in Jesus.
