Jim Carlson has served in rural church ministry nearly his whole life. In the 25 years prior to joining Montana Bible College in 2009, Jim was pastor of Lone Rock Bible Church in Montana’s Bitterroot Valley, executive director of the Rocky Mountain Bible Mission, and pastor of Community Bible Church of Fort Benton, Montana, and the Winifred (Montana) Community Bible Church.

Jim served as president of Montana Bible College from 2009 until 2016 and continues as an associate professor in pastoral studies and serves as the pastoral concentration chair. During his time as Montana Bible College president, Jim also began pastoring Dry Creek Bible Church where he now serves with the majority of his time. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Big Sky Bible College, a Master of Arts in New Testament Language and Exegesis from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, and a Master of Theology from Western Seminary.

Jim and his wife, Mary, have four grown sons.
