September 27: Ben & Kristen Bielenberg, Blue Mound, KS
Situated in the SE part of Kansas, Blue Mound has a population of roughly 275 people. Once a thriving town with all sorts of businesses and activities, as in most small towns across America, the businesses one by one continue to close and the people move to the bigger cities. The main occupation revolves around the farmers. Many men in the church own cattle and plant crops. The church continues to seek God, and we know that God is doing many great things here. We have a weekly prayer meeting on Wednesday nights where we study the Word of God and pray for the needs of those in the church and in the community. During the school year, we have an After-School Program in the basement of the church. It brings 25-35 kids out to have the opportunity to hear the gospel each and every week! The women of the church put together a Third Saturday Supper that serves people of the church and the community, and allows for a time to fellowship and share with each other. We have a monthly Men’s Breakfast and Men’s Bible Study, where we come and share a meal together, study God’s Word, and spend time praying for each other. God has been very good to us here in Blue Mound and it is always amazing to me that God allows me to be His servant by “Preaching the Word and Loving the People!” Pray that we would seek God’s will in all of our decisions! Pray that we would see new people come to know the Lord! Pray that God would open the closed doors! Pray that God would open our hearts!
