Betty came to the Bible study at the Woodbriar Senior Apartments; I’ve seen Betty around as I help with Meals-on-Wheels. She came to Bible study, she said, “Because I like Pastor Paul, and I’d like to hear what he has to say.” Afterwards there were many Bible questions. I’ve always told them that if they have any questions about the Bible, I would be glad to answer them. As I was answering several questions, Ernie said, “I’ve got a few questions too. But I guess I’ll have to get them answered later.” And he wheeled his motorized scooter down to his apartment. When I finished answering the other questions, I went and visited Ernie in his apartment and answered his questions – one of which was about baptism. Ernie prayed to receive Christ several months ago. I told him that baptism did not save him, but was a testimony of his faith in Jesus to people around him. He said, “Well, if God knows I’m saved, I don’t care what anyone else thinks!” We continued to talk about how important our testimony is. He asked how he could be baptized, because he couldn’t walk into the water. I said, “If you want to be baptized, we will get you into the water.” Pray for Ernie and the others at Woodbriar Apartments. They are hungry for the truth of God’s Word; Sunday evening, a group of them came to our Hymn Sing. As we talked for awhile afterward, they seemed to talk themselves into coming for Sunday morning services.
