Recently one of our directors in Awana excitedly came to tell me the following story. The joy in her heart was wonderful to hear, so I asked her to write it down to share. Enjoy!    Keith & Kim Walker We had a little boy named Luke come to our Awana Club in November. He was visiting from Reno, NV, and his aunt brought him to our Club. I sat with him and gave him the ‘Flight 3:16’ – the booklet the Sparkies receive when they first come to our Club. I asked if he knew how to read. He came close to me and whispered in my ear, like he was telling me a big secret, that there were some words that he could not read yet. So I worked with him the very first section: John 3:16: “For God so loved the world,” John 3:16. We repeated it several times until he was able to say it by heart, word perfect! We finished our book time and went out to play the games, and soon the night came to an end. Days later, his aunt called our Commander to say that her nephew had really enjoyed his experience at Awana. But not only that – she said he came home curious to find more about what he had learned. His grandmother then sat with him and explained God’s purpose through Jesus Christ, and right there, he invited Jesus to come to live in his heart. What a blessing! He now wants his parents to find an Awana Club in Reno, and our hope and prayer is that his whole family will come to Jesus as well…
