Trail is an unincorporated community with houses spread up and down two rural highways.  Logging once was the mainstay but now the economy is largely geared to the tourists, who come for the world class fishing on the scenic Rogue River and those traveling to nearby Crater Lake National Park. Many people commute to Medford about 25 miles away for work.  Most of the recent arrivals to the area are retirees from California.  The school and fire department are located two miles from Trail in the larger town of Shady Cove, along with local businesses and several churches.

PRAYER REQUESTS: Trail Community Church has been affiliated with Village Missions since 1973. The church is a friendly, mostly older congregation and has struggled to reach out to our community.  With declining attendance and finances over the past several years, a year ago the church board introduced the need to do things differently if the church is not just to survive but to thrive in the future. The change and revitalization process has not been easy. Kids are coming to Christ almost every week in the partnership with Good News Club in a nearby town, but there remains a lot of work to be done if the church is to be effective at reaching all generations. Pray for the church to catch the vision to reach out and for willing workers to make it happen.
