February 1: Nathan & Stephanie Dick, Panton, VT
On the western edge of VT just off Lake Champlain, the Adirondack Mountains of NY are on our west and the Green Mountains of VT on the east. We’re in the heart of dairy country; our county is the milk shed of all New England. In Panton, cows outnumber people almost 3 to 1! Vermont is known for its liberal ideals, yet the people are very spiritual. They worship many gods, eastern religions are very popular, and the people have an intense love for “Mother Earth.” But, like the rest of America, many homes are filled with broken hearts and shattered dreams. Pray for my ability to get into new homes and to be bold in proclaiming the faith. It’s very easy to get acquainted with people in New England, but very hard to earn a spot for ministering to them. I’ve been given the opportunity to write a weekly faith column in our local newspaper that reaches about 20,000 homes. This is an amazing door that has opened! Pray that the people’s hearts would be changed in this area.
