With the tough conditions of harvest this year, we – as a church – were looking at ways that we could encourage farmer’s in our community. We decided to prepare 60 lunches (a bottle of water, apple or banana, cookie, and a bag of chips, as well as a brochure stating this was given “Because We Care” and God cares.

Last Tuesday, we had 4 vehicles each take 15 lunches and head into 4 different quadrants around our church. We successfully distributed about 50 lunches. Some of our people have received text messages, personal thanks, and even a card of thanks from people around us.

Personally, as I was driving around, there were at least 4 where the people almost became emotional when I gave them the lunches – they said they had never experienced anything like this before. We are praying that God will use this act of kindness to tear down walls of resistance and cause some to be brought near to Him so they can hear and respond to His amazing love and care for us.
