michaudOne of the men in the church sensed God’s calling to the Philippines to help a small struggling church that ministers to the homeless street children of Manila. He left in June with our pledge to support the Pilipino Church. After getting married to a Christian woman in the church, he contacted us concerning the great need that overwhelmed him. A yard sale at our church was suggested, so the ladies of our church organized a gigantic yard sale for Saturday, October 12, with a tremendous outpouring of donated items. The sale was a huge success with nearly $1,500.00 raised for the Pilipino children. The reaction from Manila was one of almost unbelief. They could not praise God enough for how rich we Americans are and how we generously met their needs. To think that our gift came from what we would normally throw away brings a new conviction of, “To whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48).” May God be glorified as we give.
