I was able to participate in a local outside Nativity play that has been running for 19 years (I’ve been a part of it for 10 years). My role is that of a ‘Rabbi’ who is the first person that the ‘audience’ sees, and it is my job to set the mood and the atmosphere. After me, they are taken on a journey through a recreation of the town of Bethlehem the night Jesus was born (similar style to a ‘Stations of the Cross’) and interacting with the actors who play the townspeople, Romans soldiers, shepherds, and Wise Men. The first night we were packed and had over 250 people come through the play, and the second night we had about 150 people come through.
