We hosted our annual Valentines Banquet this week and it was quite an event. We had 15 teenagers ready to serve a meal of baked potato, smoked pork loin, and a wonderful dessert. About an hour before the event started it began to rain and it was freezing to everything. Many people couldn’t attend due to the slick roads. We were planning for 100, and only 45 were able to make it. Then just as I was welcoming the people and getting ready to pray we lost power. The entire town was out of power. It was a good thing that the table decorations included battery power candles because they were needed. We were able to serve the meal and visit with many people from the community in spite of a power failure! I was reminded that we have an enemy that seeks to knock us down, but we know that God was working that night!
