Meadow Creek (40 km north of Kaslo) is a small group of communities in the southern interior of BC with a population of about 400 people. The general area is spiritually very dark – steeped in New Age doctrine, the drug culture, environmentalism, left-wing politics, welfare, and a fierce independence that wants to be separated from government encroachment, cell phones, organized religion, and accountability.
Within the last several years our area has lost about 160 sawmill jobs, economically devastating our tiny valley. In this same time frame we have lost 3/4 of our church body: people moving away to find work and older people moving closer to medical facilities. God has miraculously provided adequate funding for the church, but we are now so small we are having difficulty even forming a church board. Please pray for wisdom and God’s leading as we consider the future of the work here. There are rumors that the mill will start again after several years of being closed, and the Mission has just very graciously indicated that they would continue supporting the work here. We look forward to our continuing ministry here at Meadow Creek. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness to this valley!
