Are You a Missionary?

The percentage of Christians is in decline in our two countries in contrast to Africa, Asia, and South America where the number of Christians is growing exponentially. The above mentioned field will now have no Gospel witness and that church will hasten its tumble into doctrinal confusion. The death of rural churches advances like a deadly plague across our land.

February 28: Steve & Shawna Matthews, Oak, NE

We’re in a farming area of SE Nebraska, very near the border of Kansas, with fields of corn and soybeans. Our town has about 50-60 people; Oak is a great community, with good people. This is the only church in town, so everyone considers it their church. Pray for us and our outreach into the […]

I took a couple of days and visited our partial shut-ins (those elderly folks who don’t venture out in the winter except for an occasional visit to the church on a given Sunday). One couple I visit about 6 times a year always puts out a spread of goodies. The woman, who is in her […]

The church family is warm & friendly and not hard to please – they are very laid back. Pray for balance in time management […]

Our church is nestled in the wooded rolling hills of SW Oregon, within earshot of the Rogue River. Although our address is Grants Pass, we’re 16 miles west of town and considered to be in the ‘county.’ This was a thriving logging area, but now tourism, retirees, and small businesses play a major part in […]

Being in ministry long enough to become “grandparent pastors” is a wonderful transition. Vicki and I get to be the spiritual spoilers to a lot of kids in Sunday school and Awana. Anytime we sit down there are kids on our laps, or when we walk to the school gym for Awana games we have […]

We’re located just off the Trans Canada Highway between Truro and Cape Breton Island. Our nearest town, New Glasgow, is the largest town in Pictou County. The region has history in coal mining and manufacturing and currently is home to Michelin, Sobey’s head office, and Neenah Paper. We live among rolling hills and our church […]
